Femmebit Logo Reveal

Femmebit is a platform that unites femme and non-binary artists around Los Angeles who work with new media. They gather to examine how progressive ideas grow with the development of art and technology, and to consider how the two can collaborate to shape a more forward-thinking future. For this logo reveal, the challenge was to design an animation that reflects Femmebit’s goals using dynamic and futuristic elements. My solution was to design a set of simple and unique elements that represent the individuals within the collective. I then set them into motion, having them gather and flow, until finally building them into the logo. The neon colors with gradients reflect futuristic ideas, and the 2D design, accompanied by a soundtrack that shows the technology side of Femmebit. In the end, the elements unite and charge energy that explodes into the logo. I used 2D motion effects to convey the energy, and also incorporated numerous cuts throughout the animation to represent the rapidly changing technology.
